Beckhoff has developed the AX5206-0000-0020 module which is a two-channel servo drive belonging to the range of AX5000 drives, which presents optimal functionality at industry level and cost efficiency at the same time. It has internal components such as the power supply unit, the EMC filter and, the DC link capacitors, which eases the process of system integration. The focusing of several control loops in a configuration permit enhanced and accurate positioning dynamics which is quite important in motion control systems of high demands.

The AX5206-0000-0020 is an EtherCAT capable device which allows the communication and exchange of real time information between the servo drive and PC based controls. There is approximately 6A continuous current output per each channel which can reach up to 13A upon peak request therefore enabling connection of various motors, whether synchronous, asynchronous, line and torque as well as voice coil motors. This servo drive has the capability to accommodate several feedback systems such as SinCos, resolver, EnDat 2.1, Hiperface, BiSS B and OCT that pretty wide range of motor and sensors’ assembly.

Also, the servo drive has the capability of allowing operation without any sensors on both synchronous and asynchronous motors which increases the degree of told adaptability. Safety provisions can be provided through the auxiliary AX58xx module, which guarantees control standards such as EN ISO 13849-1:2015 (Cabin 4, PL e) or SIL 3 making it applicable in safety related areas. The AX5206-0000-0020 can work under rated voltages in the range (100-480) V AC and in ambient temperatures ranging between 0 to +50 degree Celsius making it durable and dependable in harsh industrial conditions. Additionally, it complies with CE, cULus, and EAC for worldwide market requirements.
