AX2006-AS is an AX 2000 series servo amplifier. It is manufactured by Beckhoff, a global supplier of industrial automation solutions. Several standard features are available on all servo amplifiers. A name plate on the housing lists information for equipment identification. They support a wide range for three-phase AC input from 208 to 480 Volts AC. Two analog setpoint inputs are provided on each amplifier. An integrated CAN interface enables CAN network integration and supports 500 kbaud data rate. This CAN interface can be used for amplifier configuration. A separate RS-232 serial interface is also available. The amplifiers can be used with linear, synchronous and asynchronous motors from Beckhoff. Single phase input can be used during amplifier setup and configuration. The output stage comprises of an IGBT module with current measurement.

An integrated filter provides interference suppression. The voltage on the DC bus is 260 to 900 Volts DC. Several safety features are available, including electrical separation between the power and motor connection and signal electronics, and temperature monitoring of motor and amplifier. A PC-based software can be used for amplifier configuration. Additionally, a keypad with LED display can also be used for direct operation. The amplifier is fully programmable via the serial RS-232 interface. Integrated I/O includes two analog output, four programmable digital inputs and two programmable digital outputs. Nominal and peak output of the AX2006-AS amplifier are 6 Amps rms and 12 Amps rms respectively. The maximum and minimum load inductances are 40 and 7.5 millihenry. Heat dissipated by the amplifier at rated current is 60 Watts. The servo amplifier weighs 4 kilograms and its dimensions are 275 x 70 x 265 millimeters.
