Product Description

AX2003-AS is an AX 2000 series digital servo amplifier from Beckhoff. The amplifier can be connected to symmetrically earthed three-phase AC mains that carry maximum 480 Volts AC. It must not be connected directly to power mains that carry voltages greater than 230 Volts AC but are without a ground or an asymmetrical ground. Additional filters must be used with the amplifier if it is installed in residential or commercial areas. The amplifier is designed for use with specific Beckhoff synchronous motors. For such applications, the motor voltage rating must be at least close to the DC bus link voltage of the amplifier. A name plate on the amplifier lists essential information needed for its identification. Rated supply voltage for the AX2003-AS amplifier is 230 to 480 Volts AC (three-phase, 50/60 Hertz).

The rated installed load is 2 kVA. The specified DC bus link voltage ranges from 290 to 675 Volts. Output current rating of the AX2003-AS amplifier is 3 Amps rms. The peak output current of the device is 6 Amps rms. Clock frequency of the output stage is 8 kHz. The overvoltage protection threshold is from 450 to 900 Volts. The maximum permitted load inductance is 75 millihenry. The minimum load inductance is 12 millihenry. Residual voltage drop at rated output current is 5 Volts. The unit dissipates 15 Watts when the output stage is disabled. Its dissipation at rated current is 40 Watts. The unit supports 24 Volts DC auxiliary power supply. An integrated CAN interface is available for network connectivity. One RS-232 serial interface provides connectivity between the amplifier and a PC used for its configuration. Weight of the amplifier is 4 kilograms.
