Product Description
The AS1060-1120 belongs to the AS1000 series, which is a type of stepper motor having a high torque output, intended for controlling motions precisely and producing high holding torque. It operates at 24 – 48 V DC range and has a holding torque of 5.00 Nm at a rated current of 5.0 A and a resolution of 1.8°/200 full steps. The motor has an M12/01 connector plug. It is designed for use from 0…+40°C and has CE approval but only IP20 protection degree. Key dimensions include: a: 73 mm; b: 14 mm; d: 30 mm; k: 96.5 mm; O: 24 mm; R: 85.5 mm (NEMA34 flange size). The AS1000 series stepper motor is a direct drive system having a number of poles.
This is attributed to the remains of the advanced control of stator windings in a full or micro step mode. In contrast with a servomotor, these types of stepper motors do not have a feedback mechanism to instruct the number of complete steps or fraction of the steps that need to be taken in a single motion procedure. In extreme cases, however, where the burst is accelerated too much or the load cycles rapid, the motor can “lose steps” due to being unable to track the rotating field and one will have to integrate an encoder option to reduce such failures.
The uno stepper motors offer their highest torque when the angular speed is low and many times, the encoder’s high hold torque at standstill removes the requirement of using a holding brake. Beckhoff’s stepper motor terminals also allow the provision for storing a current curve at any speed or load profile and this contributes to improved management of thermal loads.
