AS Stepper Motor Series

The Beckhoff AS Stepper Motor Series of stepper motors is a comprehensive product line that caters to a wide range of industrial automation requirements. These two-phase stepper motors are designed to bridge the gap between traditional stepper motors and high-performance servomotors, offering a versatile solution for applications that demand precise and reliable motion control. The series encompasses seven models, each with a stepper angle of 1.8 degrees, and a holding torque range from 0.8 to 8 Nm, ensuring that users can select the appropriate motor for their specific needs. One of the key features of the AS Stepper Motor Series is its industrial-grade design, which includes a higher IP54 protection rating, making the motors suitable for use in harsh environments. The motors also feature easy cabling thanks to the standardized, integrated M12 high-power screw-type connector for power and the robust M12 connector for the encoder. The torsion-proof, integrated encoder with 1024 increments per revolution, combined with the Beckhoff-supported vector control system, minimizes resonances and reduces the generation of heat and noise, providing servo-like operating characteristics. The AS Stepper Motor Series stepper motors are designed to be seamlessly integrated with Beckhoff's EtherCAT stepper motor terminals, such as the EL7037 (1.5 A) and EL7047 (5 A), as well as the EL7062 two-channel stepper motor terminal, which supports the 5 V TTL encoder. This integration simplifies the commissioning process and allows users to leverage the powerful TwinCAT automation software for easy axis layout and configuration.
