Product Description
The AM8031-0C21-0000 is an accurate three-phase permanent magnet-excited motor derived from Beckhoff’s critically acclaimed AM servomotor series. It features a 72-mm flange, a smooth drive shaft, and an OCT multi-turn motor feedback encoder. With its lightweight design and construction, the AM8031-0C21-0000 fits well for several systems with limited space. Aside from its advanced feedback system, the AM8031-0C21-0000 also incorporates a powerful brake that can hold the rotor in place for highly accurate applications. The holding brake runs at a supply voltage of 24 VDC, while the motor itself can operate between 100 and 480 VAC excitation voltage.
The AM8031-0C21-0000 has an integrated LPTC-600 thermal contact that measures the temperature of the stator winding during operation. Whenever the winding temperature reaches 120 degrees Celsius, a warning is generated. At a detected temperature of 140 degrees Celsius, the motor switches off. Although the motor’s winding can reach a fairly high temperature, the motor must be kept in a lower ambient temperature range during operation. Specifically, the suggested temperature range for the AM8031-0C21-0000 during operation is from 5 to 40 degrees Celsius. Depending on the value of the excitation voltage, the AM8031-0C21-0000’s working speed may be controlled.
At the nominal excitation voltage of 400 VAC, the AM8031-0C21-0000 runs at 3000 min^-1 and develops a shaft torque and power of 1.34 Nm and 0.42 kW. The maximum speed that the machine can achieve at optimal conditions is 10,000 rpm. At starting conditions, the AM8031-0C21-0000 achieves an equivalent current and torque of 1 ampere and 1.37 Nm. During nominal operation, the AM8031-0C21-0000’s holding brake draws 0.33 amperes and consumes 11 watts. At a maximum winding temperature of 120 degrees Celsius, the holding brake can safely halt the rotor with a shaft torque under 2 Nm.
