Product Description
When it comes to efficiency, nothing can beat Beckhoff’s AM8 servo motor family line. Motors under the AM8 family line feature a brushless construction, allowing them to minimize rotational losses that stem from the motor’s mechanical contacts. The AM8023-0EH1-0000 is a specific model under the AM8 motor series line, featuring a flange length of 58 millimeters and a smooth, plain drive shaft. The AM8023-0EH1-0000 is a synchronous three-phase motor, which means that the rotor matches the speed of the moving stator magnetic field. Depending on the excitation voltage, the speed of the rotating magnetic field varies. At 400 V, the AM8023-0EH1-0000’s synchronous speed is equal to 8000 revolutions per minute.
At the terminal speed of 8000 rpm, the AM8023-0EH1-0000 delivers an output power of 840 watts. At this power, the machine draws 1.85 amperes and can drive loads at an equivalent torque output of 1 Nm. In terms of its exterior, the AM8023-0EH1-0000 has an anthracite gray acrylic coating. It measures 190 mm, including its standard holding brake. The AM8023-0EH1-0000’s holding brake operates at a nominal excitation voltage of 24 VDC. The brake can halt the rotor during operation, provided the rotor’s torque is below 2 Nm.
Although the AM8023-0EH1-0000’s nameplate specifies 400 V as the excitation voltage, different supply voltages may be used. In particular, the AM8023-0EH1-0000 is known to work for the following supply voltages: 115 V, 230 V, and 480 V. When high speed is preferable for certain applications, the motor can achieve a peak mechanical speed of 12,000 rpm. For a brief period of time, the AM8023-0EH1-0000 may draw a peak current of 11.40 amperes and deliver a peak torque output of 6.36 Nm.
