Product Description
The AM8021-5BH1-0000 is a brushless AC three-phase motor that serves well as a lightweight motor for servo applications. It has three-phase stator windings, which are 120 electrical degrees apart, allowing power to be transmitted efficiently per rotor revolution. The machine’s winding also employs a thermal contact sensor that monitors the motor’s internal temperature during operation. When the winding’s temperature reaches 120 degrees Celsius, a warning message is generated. At 140 degrees Celsius, the machine automatically disconnects via a switch-off mechanism. The AM8021-5BH1-0000 belongs to Beckhoff’s AM motor series line with a 58-mm shaft size.
The AM8021-5BH1-0000 has a type-5 shaft version, which means that the drive side incorporates a radial sealing ring. Furthermore, instead of a plain smooth shaft, the machine employs a grooved, featherkey on its output shaft. Like type-4 shaft versions, type-5 shafts under Beckhoff’s AM series line also include a sealing air connection. The AM8021-5BH1-0000 has an OCT multi-turn SIL 2 24-bit motor feedback system, which allows it to monitor important rotor movement and other parameters during operation. Aside from the mentioned features, the AM8021-5BH1-0000 also comes with a standard 24 V holding brake.
The AM8021-5BH1-0000’s brake holds a maximum torque of 2 Nm at 120 degrees Celsius. To operate normally, the brake must be connected to a 24 V supply. Whenever operated, the AM8021-5BH1-0000 draws 10 watts and facilitates actuation with the following release and application delays: 25 ms and 8 ms, respectively. The AM8021-5BH1-0000 reaches 0.5 Nm and 0.85 A during stall conditions. At 480 volts supply voltage, the AM8021-5BH1-0000’s rotor revolves at a rate of 9000 times per minute to deliver a torque and power of 0.5 Nm and 0.47 kW, respectively.
