Product Description
AM8021-1B20-0000 is a feature-rich servo motor from Beckhoff Automation’s AM800 series. It has a brushless design and uses electronic commutation. Permanent magnets used for motor development allow low-inertia operation. Real-time feedback – available via a range of sensors – enables precise control of output torque, position and speed. The AM8021-1B20-0000 motor comes with a multi turn encoder for feedback. The encoder supports OCT or one cable technology. The benefit of this feature is that only one cable is required to transmit power and feedback data between the motor and the servo drive. This cable reduces wiring and installation costs for the system. The main shaft on the AM8021-1B20-0000 motor includes groove and feather key. A shaft with a feather key and groove allows transmission of torque and motion from the motor shaft to an attached component, such as a pulley or wheel.
The benefit of this arrangement is that the component remains fixed to the shaft while permitting axial movement along the length of the shaft. The peak mechanical speed of the motor and maximum permitted input voltage are 12,000 RPM and 480 Volts AC. Operation over a wide AC input range is possible, and output parameters vary with applied input. At 115 Volts, the speed, torque and power values are 1500 RPM, 0.5 Nm and 0.08 kilowatts. At 230 Volts, the speed, torque and power values are 4000 RPM, 0.5 Nm and 0.21 kilowatts. At 400 Volts, the speed, torque and power values are 8000 RPM, 0.5 Nm and 0.42 kilowatts. At 480 Volts, the speed, torque and power values are 9000 RPM, 0.5 Nm and 0.47 kilowatts. The motor is without a brake and weighs 1 kilogram.
