Product Description
AM257S-0001 is a high-performance DC servo motor. It requires DC input power which is supplied by a servo amplifier. The amplifier used with the motor must be compatible with it. The servo amplifier performs two primary functions: it supplies stable DC power and algorithms running on it control motor speed and torque. An essential input for these control algorithms is real-time feedback from the motor. This AM series motor has an integrated resolver for feedback. The servo amplifiers from the Beckhoff AX2000 series evaluate the resolver feedback and supply sinusoidal currents to the motor. Another feature supported by the AM257S-0001 motor is a holding brake. Voltage rating of the brake is 24 Volts DC. Its holding torque is 6 Nm. Power rating of the brake is 16 Watts.
Release delay of the brake on the AM257S-0001 motor can vary between 10 and 30 milliseconds. The application delay can vary between 5 and 15 milliseconds. The brake weighs approximately 0.6 kilograms. Mains supply for the motor is 400 / 460 Volts. Specifications for standstill current and torque are 2.8 Amps and 4.6 Nm. Nominal speed rating of the motor is 3000 RPM. Rated values for power, torque and current are 0.95 kilowatts, 3 Nm and 2.7 Amps respectively. Shipping weight of the servo motor is 5.7 kilograms. The motor is designed with electronic commutation, which is a modern commutation method that does not rely on carbon brushes to switch current in the windings. Circuits used for electronic commutation do not require replacement. Furthermore, this modern commutation method does not produce sparks during motor operation. As a result, motors with this feature can be safely used in a wide range of operating environments.
