AM237M-0021 is an industrial DC servo motor. The motor is part of the AM237 series from Beckhoff Automation. The AM series of synchronous servo motors is designed for applications that include industrial robots, machine tools, textile and packing machinery. Design of the motors is optimized for industrial applications that require accurate motor control. These motors feature a resolver, which is a sensor for measuring the speed and shaft position. The resolver converts mechanical motion into an electrical signal. Resolvers provide high accuracy and reliability in position sensing. Their ability to operate in harsh environments is enabled by their robust construction. These sensors are widely used in various applications, particularly industrial automation. Feedback from the motors is used as an input by control algorithms on compatible servo amplifiers. These amplifiers provide power for the motor and control their parameters such as speed and position.

Optimal motor operation requires ambient conditions that comply with Beckhoff recommendations. The ambient temperature for rated values is 5 to 40 degrees for sites altitudes up to 1000 meters. The permissible maximum relative humidity is 85%. Output of the motors derates at a rate of 1%/K for the 40 to 50 degrees Celsius range. The motors have a flange on the housing for machine mounting.
